ALBERT PENDER, son of Edna Mae Riggs Pender and the late Shack Pender, Sr. was born in Rosenhayn, NJ on August 25, 1947. He was the seventh child born to this union. He went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 29, 2013. He was affectionately known as "Peanut".
Albert was educated in the Deerfield Township Schools and attended Bridgeton High School. He worked for Progresso Foods for over twenty years before his health began to fail him.
Albert had many hobbies: master chef, fishing and was a carpentry builder. Albert was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. James A. Dunkins, Sr.
Albert leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Anne Carol of Rosenhayn, NJ; his children, Sheila Moreland of Boston, MA, Lenore Danley of Pittsgrove, NJ, Vicki Johnson of Vineland, NJ, Janice Ware of Rosenhayn, NJ and Ernest Thompson of Williamsburg, VA; eleven grandchildren: Ocquilla Scurry, Vincent Scurry, Swantiya Robinson, Earnest Thompson, Jr., Onei1 Thompson, Monica Thompson, William Ware, Jawill Ware, Ashanti Ware, Diamond Johnson and Johnny Moreland ; three sisters: Delores (Wilbur) Doss of Newtonville, NJ, Marie (Earl) Sherrod of Philadelphia, PA and Marcella (Wallace) Moore of Vineland, NJ; one brother, Rev. Ronald D, (Noemi) Pender, Sr, of Rosenhayn, NJ; sisters-in-law: Paula Pender, Michelle Pender, Opal Jean Jackson, Dorothy Jean Jackson; brothers-in-law Ernest and Albert Thompson; one aunt, Willa Pender Satchel of Clayton, NJ; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that were very special to him.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Linwood Sanders, Edith Guilford, Glendon and Shack Pender.
Services will be 11am Friday, February 8, 2013 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 737 West Walnut Rd.,Vineland NJ. Viewing will be 9am-11am. Interment will be held in Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Hopewell Township.
