Today we are here to commemorate the life of Albert Williams. He peacefully and quietly grab his father hand on Sunday September 20, 2020. His Father told him he had an opening for a Guitar player on his Heavenly choir but it was one stipulation, the position had to be filled immediately. He said, Lord, I been waiting for a chance to play on your choir and I always had my bag packed and I'm ready to go! I have to let my family know that you have requested me to come and play for your choir and I must go. Albert Williams, was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend.
Albert Williams was one of four children born to the Late Charles Williams and Ethel (Raford) Williams. Albert Williams was born on October 13, 1930 in Aiken South Carolina. He was educated in the Aiken School System. On March 21, 1951, Albert Williams was united in marriage with the late Dr. Pastor Maude (Sease) Williams and later moved to New Jersey; and he began working at Anchor Hopkins in 1963 and retired from their in 1994. Albert enjoyed singing with the gospel group Voices of Zion. He loved playing his guitar as his wife song, singing at church cutting wood, fishing and going to flea markets. He looked forward to going home sitting in his favorite chair crossing his leg and listening to people talk and laugh or listening to Mighty Clouds of Joy, Swanee Quintet and the Gospel Keynotes. He also loved traveling down South Carolina, once a year to get his Georgia Boy Red Hot Sausages, Paper Shell Pecans, Souse Meat and Scuppernongs.
Albert joined Faith Chapel Church in the 1960's. It was there that Albert gave his life to Christ and served as a Deacon, under the tutelage of Pastor Inez Moore. He could function in any capacity in the church, but he loved playing the guitar and singing.
Left to face the challenge of living a Christian life are one daughter: Esther Barnes, Quinton, NJ ; one son: Alvin (Marie) Williams,Sr of Fairton, NJ, three sisters: Pearl (William)Tyler, Charlie Mae Glass and Rosalee Penn all from New Jersey, and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren's, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Dr. Pastor Maude (Sease) Williams, parents Charles and Ethel (Raford) Williams, one son: Herbert Williams; six brothers-in- laws: Willie, Conlee and David Sease, Williams Underwood, Sr, Benjamin Penn and Forest Glass; two sister-in-law: Lottie Underwood and Ida Mae Sease.
