Alberta Thompson-Pierce's Obituary

A heart of gold stop beating, two shining eyes are at rest, God broke our hearts to prove, "He Only Takes The Best!"

Alberta Thompson Pierce affectionately known as "Skeeta" was born on October 6, 1946, in Bridgeton, NJ to the late Anniebell Scarbrough, and raised in Rosenhayn, NJ. On May 1, 2023, while peacefully sleeping and surrounded by family, Alberta was called to glory.

Alberta was educated in the Deerfield Township School District. Growing up she loved to sing along with her sisters in their choir, later in life she joined the Gospelites of Glassboro, NJ. As much as she loved to sing, she equally loved to bowl. Bowling was her sport! She would travel the world to throw that ball down a lane. She was good at it too! We (the family) often thought she imagined the pins being somebodies head, that made her mad, and she would bowl a strike that was equivalent to knocking the mess out of them. If she wasn't bowling, she was somewhere cruising the many seas and did so often.

Alberta accepted the Lord as her personal savior as a teenager under the leadership of the late R.L. Gordon. She was a member of Cornerstone Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Ralph Graves Jr.

Alberta will be sorrowfully missed by her husband Kenneth Pierce, who she married in 2004. She also leaves to cherish her memory her biological children: Jacob Thompson, Steve Thompson, Sharon Thompson, her adopted children after marriage: Jeremy Thompson Pierce, Trintee Thompson Pierce, Aamara Thompson Pierce, sisters: A. Frankie Scarbrough, Ruthie Townsend, Tissie (William) Harris, Sheila Dunkley, Lisa Coney (Maurice) Fonsville, Brenda (Baron) Daye, brothers: Curtis (Deanna) Scarbrough, Edward Scarbrough, a dear and loving Aunt Geneva Jones, along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. A loving nephew Corey Carter always gave her what she wanted, and she loved him so.

Alberta was predeceased by her mother Anniebell Scarbrough, son Joseph Gary Thompson, 3 grandsons: Gary Jones, Joseph Jones, Laquaint Allen, Aunt Jessie Jackson, sisters Eugenia Sharpe, and Lillian "Ann" Carter.
