Anna Maurice Jones went to sleep peacefully and woke up in the arms of Jesus Friday, August 29, 2025. Anna was born in Swainsboro, GA, October 23, 1942 to the late Roman and Bessie Smith Jones.  In 1946 her family relocated to New Jersey, settling on a farm in Rosenhayn.

Anna graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1961 and then enrolled in Taylor Business School in Philadelphia to become a medical secretary.  After graduating first in her class, Anna worked as an administrative assistant to the medical director of Mercy Douglas Hospital in Philadelphia.  In 1972 Anna returned to New Jersey and began working as a staff medical transcriptionist at Millville Hospital.  In 1978 she was hired as supervisor of medical transcription at Newcomb Medical Center in Vineland. While at NMC Anna received her certification from the American Association of Medical Transcription and was instrumental in establishing the South Jersey Chapter of AAMT. Anna continued working until her retirement in 2006 from Inspira Medical Center.

Anna joined Wesley Memorial AME Zion Church in January 1982 under the late Rev. Isaac H. DeShields and was a faithful member for 43 years. She served as a church mother, on the steward board, special events committee, was president of the Caribbean support committee, and a former member of the Voices of Wesley.

Anna enjoyed the theatre and attending concerts. One of her cherished experiences was attending Stevie Wonder's birthday party in 1967. Anna collected dolls and enjoyed word puzzles.

Anna helped coordinate the Smith-Gunn Family Reunion and served as secretary.  She was a family historian and organized the family reunion memorial exhibit.
Anna was predeceased by her parents and siblings Charlie Mae Spells, Rev. Walter R. Jones, Rev. Lee Roy Jones and Robert Jones, Sr.

Anna is survived by her son, Derek Robinson(Alice), and four grandchildren, Derek, Myles, Noah and Leyla.  Anna also leaves to cherish her memory, her sister Elsie Singleton (James), sisters in love Geneva Jones and Cynthia Jones, a host of nieces, nephews and friends, and her Wesley Memorial AME Zion Church family.
