Anne (Annie) Miriam Wilson was welcomed into the world by Stanford Thomas and Beatrice Carter on May 3rd, 1952 in Philadelphia PA. She went home to be with the lord on June 1st, 2020 at the tender age of 68. She was a God-fearing woman who loved the lord, loved her family, loved her church, and the various friends she met along life's journey.
Anne was raised in Deptford NJ, and she is a product of the Deptford school system. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal savior at the age of 11 and was baptized by the late W.D. Willis and became a member of The First Baptist Church of Jericho, where she remained until her death. She was an active member in many church ministries and organizations.
She was a gifted singer who participated in her church's choir as well as singing at various church engagements throughout the area. She was also The District Superintendent of the Gloucester and Salem Counties of Christian Education, The Youth Director of the Ebenezer Union Youth Dept, and an active member of the New Jersey State Minister's Wives and Widows of Atlantic County.
Anne met and married the late Rev. Daniel Jerome Wilson Sr. in October of 1981. Jerome was the Pastor of Mt Moriah Baptist Church and he served there until his death in 1994. Their union has produced one son, Daniel Jerome Wilson Jr. Anne was employed by the Vineland Public School System as a Special Education Teacher where she worked for over 20 years until her death. She holds a BA degree in Early Childhood Education from Rowan University and she also holds an Associate degree in Arts Education from Gloucester County College. She was loved and well thought of by her students and school staff.
Anne's favorite song was Blessed Assurance and her favorite bible verse was Galatians 2:20 which states "I am crucified with Christ and nevertheless I live; yet not I but Christ liveth in me and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith of the son of God who loved me and gave himself for me." She enjoyed reading her bible, traveling, listening to gospel music, and spending time with her friends and family. Anne leaves behind a rich and beautiful legacy for family and friends to cherish forever. "Well done good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, and I will make you ruler over many." Matt 25:21
Anne was predeceased by her parents: Stanford Thomas, Beatrice Carter; Her mother in law; Rosa (Wilson) Talbert; Husband: Daniel Jerome Wilson Sr.
Anne leaves behind to cherish her memories, Her son Daniel Wilson Jr. (For whom she loved very much); Two sisters, Debora Carey and Naomi Smalling; Sister in law, Darlene Wilson; Brother in law, Ray Wilson; five nephews, Mark Carey, Andrew Carey, Marcus Wilson; 2 great nephews, Anthony Hickman jr, and Martin Cohen: 6 nieces; Genevieve Smith, Dr. Odette Collins, Joy Carey, Tiffany Wilson, Tia Wilson, Shonda Wilson ; 4 Great Nieces, Tasia Hickman-Walker, Lashonda Hickman, Patricia Cohen, Kalisa Cohen and a host of cousins, Church family, and special friends.
