Arlene G Powers was born September 18, 1948 to Fred and Marion Butler. She went home to be with the Lord, November 9, 2022 after being in her home away from home in Hammonton, NJ.
She was born and raised in Bridgeton, NJ growing up and later went on to marry John Powers Sr.
Arlene loved to dance and sing music. One of her favorite hobbies was taking pictures. She had so many albums, they would overflood her closet. She was even nicknamed cousin pictures.
She spent some years sewing and making clothes. She had so many original pieces you would think she was a designer.
She loved traveling and going to Cowtown buying in bulk. She vowed her kids or loved ones or neighbors would never want or need for anything.
Arlene was a teacher and wore many hats. She also served the church for many years one being Voice of Deliverance New Covenant Church. Mom loved the Lord.
She leaves to cherish her memories her son, John Powers Jr., Aaron Powers and Genava Powers. She had a very large family her sisters Marie Byrd, Louise Baker, Pearlene Oconnor, Marita Lawson, Norene Butler, Barbara Thompson, Bernice Harris, Cheryl Butler. She has a host of grandchildren in which she loved down to her last breath.
She was predeceased by her daughters, Stephanie and Davina Powers; siblings, Fred Jr Butler, Gerald Butler, Regina Butler, Rosalie Roley, Douglas Butler, Monalisa Cross and Martha Butler.
To know her was to love her; her light will live on in us all.
