Aubrey Trent
Smith, Jr.
October 10, 1966 – June 9, 2025
Aubrey T. Smith Jr., known to his family as "Trent", entered this world on October 10, 1966 in Lindenwold, New Jersey and departed on June 9, 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia.
Trent graduated from Woodbury High School in 1985. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps, where he served with honor until 1989. During his service, he held the roles of fire team leader, stand-in squad leader, and infantryman. He continued to serve in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1993. His military service earned him several honors, including the National Defense Service Medal and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
After completing his military service, Trent worked as a Process Logistics Coordinator for ExxonMobil for over 20 years. He brought the same dedication and work ethic from his time in the Marines into his civilian career. Growing up, Trent was musically skilled – he played the saxophone- and he was also an athlete, running track and playing football. His love for sports never faded, and he later volunteered as a youth football coach, sharing his passion and mentorship with young athletes.
Trent enjoyed coffee dates with his daughters and bonding over sports with his son. One of his greatest joys was watching his granddaughter perform at dance competitions and taking his grandson on rides in an excavator – moments that brought him deep pride and happiness.
He was preceded in death by his father Aubrey Smith and mother Jean M. Smith. Trent is survived by his children: daughter, Olita T. Veasey, daughter, Tierra J. Smith, son, Deveon S. Smith (Charnice); grandchildren Olivia J. Smith-McCorey, Brysan R. Smith, Evan J. Williams, and Nolan M. Williams; siblings Kimberly J. Maxwell (Bill) and Monica L. Smith-Baker. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
