Audrey
Comer
April 14, 1946 – January 10, 2021
On the 14 th day of April 1946, a daughter Audrey (aka) Freebaby was born to the late George Waymond and Addie Lee Hall in Hopewell Township, NJ. She went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at the glorious age of 74.
Audrey attended Hopewell Township and Bridgeton Public School Systems and was later employed by Thebers, Owens Illinois and Val Mode Companies. After departing Val Mode, she worked at the Bridgeton Public School System until she retired after 26 years of service.
Audrey loved her community where she lived for 74 years. She joined the church and accepted Christ many years ago. She was blessed to be a member of many churches. Church of God in Bridgeton NJ (late Rev. Adams), John Wesley UMC in Bridgeton, NJ (late Rev. Matthew Brown), The Cathedral Grace Family Church in Atlantic City (Bishop Robert Hargrove), and The Life in Christ Ministries International in Bridgeton (Dr. Alfred Comer). Prior to her passing she was led to join the congregation at Glory Tabernacle in Bridgeton, NJ under the leadership of Bishop David Hadley Sr where she remained until she went home to be with the Lord.
Audrey had such a sweetness about her, she would always greet you with a smile, kiss or hug and somehow had a special way to always make you feel better. She was genuine, kind and showed love to everyone she knew. Audrey loved praising the Lord and serving Him. She knew how blessed she was and always felt so happy to share her faith. She was truly a disciple of the Lord. Audrey looked forward to going to church on Sunday, daily morning prayer, and Bible study during the week. She also loved being an Usher and volunteering in the church whenever she could.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband Vernell Comer of 55 years; 2 sons, Eric (Melinda) Comer and Darin (fiancé Dorthea) Comer both from Bridgeton; sister, Beverly (Joe) Croskey of Bridgeton; 3 grandchildren, Krystle (Jarrell) Davis of Lindenwold, Vernell Comer Jr (aka VJ) of Sicklerville; and Eric Comer Jr (aka Lil Eric) of Bridgeton; great grandson, Duce Comer; 2 special nieces Denise (Anthony) Napoli of Sicklerville and Shina (Ali) Hasan of Atlanta, GA; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers, 1 sister (Georganna Boyd) and 2 children a son Vernell Comer (aka) Dumpy and a daughter, Tina Comer.
