Barbara Ruth Singleton-Burnett peacefully transition on Monday, March 6, 2023. She was born on February 5, 1940, to the late Ethel Barber and Jasper Singleton in Belle Glade, Florida.
Barbara attended Glades Central High School in Belle Glade, Florida and continued her education at Cumberland County College in Vineland, NJ where she received her associate degree in social services. She was one of the first BLACK women to graduate from Cumberland County College.
She resided in Bridgeton, NJ, for a number of years, she then moved to Vineland, NJ.
Barbara dedicated her life to helping others. She spent many years working at Tri County in Bridgeton, NJ, where she eventually retired. She was a dedicated member of St. James Baptist Church in Norma, NJ. She enjoyed cooking, reading books, cross word puzzles, and shopping. She always reminded us "don't forget to bring her Pepsi!!" Barbara loved her family and enjoyed spending quality time with all of them.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving son George Bailey of Bridgeton, NJ, sister Dorothy "Dot" Davis (Henry) of Boynton Beach, Florida, granddaughters: Alice Hannah of Pennsville, NJ, Tameka Hannah (Robert Sr.) of Bridgeton, NJ, Tanisha Crawford (Dontray) of Port Norris, NJ, Brittani Bailey of Newark, Delaware, and Taylor Bailey of Millville, NJ, one godson Ezra Jones, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins all of which she truly loved dearly.
She was predeceased by her brothers Joseph Singleton, and Ernest Edward as well as her great grandchild Briana Jenkins, and her lifelong partner Leroy Edwards.
