Barry L. Ballard of Millville went home to be with the Lord on Friday, June 14, 2024. He was 78 years old.
Born in Port Norris, New Jersey December 27, 1945, Barry was the son of the late Georgia Mae
Robinson and William Rossie Ballard. He was the husband of the late Sandra Morris Ballard who passed
away in 2008.

Barry was raised in Port Norris, NJ and graduated from Millville High School in 1964. He obtained his
Bachelor of Arts degree from Cheyney University and his Masters in School Administration from
Glassboro State College (now Rowan University). While at Cheyney, he joined the Gamma Sigma
chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity, Incorporated.

Barry was a long-time resident of Millville, NJ and retired after decades of service with Commercial Township School District where he was an Elementary School Educator, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Superintendent of Schools.  He was passionate about
education, serving his home community, and mentoring young men. Barry was a member of Union Baptist Temple, Bridgeton, where he served on the Deacon's Ministry and led the Men's Fellowship Ministry and Manpower Men's Chorus. He loved his church and loved the
fellowship of men uniting in the name of Jesus. He was a charter member and director of the South
Jersey Men's Community Choir. Barry truly loved and missed his wife, Sandy, and often spoke of her
after her passing. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and member of his church.

He is survived by: son Barry J. Ballard and his wife Daneisha of Millville, son Jordan L. Ballard and his wife Tiffany of Mansfield, TX, three granddaughters Sandra Ballard, Kendal Ballard, and Kennedy Ballard, mother-in-love Romona Nelson, brothers-in-love Albert Nelson, Jr., Tyrone Nelson, and Edwin Lashley, sisters-in-love Cheryl Harris and Cynthia Nelson, two special cousins, Annette Johnson and Curtis
Johnson of Newark, DE, Debbie Ellis of Vineland, NJ, special friend and caretaker Linda White, special
friend Cheryl A. Trawick, and a host of additional nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by
his wife Sandra M. Ballard, father-in-love George Robinson, brother Rossie Sutton, and sister Merley
Sutton.
