Catherine T. Smith (nee Gilbert) was born on September 17th, 1925 in Gouldtown, New Jersey. She was known to everyone by her nickname, Tilly. She departed this life peacefully from her home on June 30th, 2020.

As a young girl, she moved with her family to Woodbury, New Jersey in 1932 where she attended Woodbury High School. It was during her high school years that she met William S. Smith of Mt. Royal, NJ and they married in 1944, settling in Mt. Royal where they raised four sons. In addition to being a loving mother and devoted wife, Catherine loved to travel and visited destinations All over the U.S., England, Ireland, Holland, Germany, Spain, Korea, Mexico, Israel, China, and the Caribbean. She worked for 17 years at Columbia Records in Pitman, NJ, retiring in 1981. Catherine was guided by her faith in God and she was active in the Angel Visit Baptist Church for over 70 year.

She is survived by her sister, Anna Helms (Barney,d); her brothers Ralph (Janet,d), Henry "Jim" (Joyce) and Richard (Esther,d) Gilbert; her sons, Wayne (Choon), Bruce (Michelle), Michael, and David (Elise) ;Grandchildren, Norville, Monica, Bruce, Erica, and Claire, her great-grandchildren, Christian, Brianna, Armani, Nathan, and Nicholas. Predeceased by her parents Harry C. and Carol E. Gilbert, her sister Ethel Galloway (Amos,d), brothers Herman and Harry Gilbert (Charlotte).
