Charles J. Clark's Obituary

Charles J. Clark, affectionately known as "Fatman/Chuckie," was born on September 14, 1960, in Bridgeton, New Jersey, to Jeanette Clark and the late Charles Clark. He peacefully received his wings on October 6, 2025.

Chuckie grew up in the close-knit community of Gouldtown, NJ, where he was loved by many. A proud graduate of Cumberland Regional High School, Class of 1981, he was well known for his friendly spirit—often seen walking up and down King Drive, stopping to chat with everyone he knew.

Chuckie was a passionate advocate and proud participant in the Special Olympics, where he excelled in multiple sports including track and field, bowling, and basketball. However, his greatest love was the game of bocce. His dedication and skill led him to represent the State of New Jersey in the World Special Olympics held in Shanghai, China, where he brought home fourth place in his age bracket.

In 2007, Chuckie received a congratulatory letter from the United States House of Representatives in Washington, D.C., honoring his selection to play on the U.S. Special Olympics Bocce Team. Throughout his athletic career, Chuckie earned numerous medals and awards, but he was most proud of the friendships and memories he made along the way.

A true Philadelphia Eagles fan, Chuckie never missed an opportunity to share his love for his team—often passionately debating their rank and declaring, without hesitation, that they were the best.

Chuckie will be remembered for his kind heart, joyful spirit, and unwavering love for his family, friends, and community. His legacy of perseverance and positivity will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Charles leaves to cherish his mother Jeanetta Clark, four brothers; Clarence (Ornessa) Smith, Gregory M. Clark, Brian L. Clark, Willard (Ebonie) Clark, 4 sisters; Maria (Jerry) McGhee, Janice R. Clark, Delphine Clark Henry, Charlene Y. Clark, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Charles is preceded in death by his father Charles L. Clark, a sister Susan Clark and one nephew Ian Duane Henry.
