Chester Lee Taylor's Obituary

Chester Lee Taylor 57, of Bridgeton NJ went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 5, 2019 after a short illness.

Chester was born February 6, 1962 to Mozelle Antionette Taylor and Robert Harris in Jackson, NC. He relocated to Paterson, NJ where he educated in the Public Schools of Patterson, NJ. He was previously employed at Eva's Rehabilitation Center in Paterson, NJ that inspired him to become a Drug and Alcoholic Counselor which he accomplished despite being ill. He graduated from Cumberland County College with a certification in Drug and  Alcohol Counseling in May 2019. Chester was excited about being recognized by his church the Union Baptist Temple.

Chester was an Associate Minister at the Calvary Baptist Church, Patterson, NJ. When he moved to Bridgeton, he joined the Union Baptist Temple where he was a faithful member of the Men's Ministry and Adult Church School and considered that a special time of learning for him on Sundays.

He also fellowshipped with the Bethany Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bridgeton and worked with the Outreach Ministry in feeding those in need and visiting the Nursing Homes. He supervised a Transitional House for the Stronger Families Program helping men returning from incarceration.

Chester or Chet as he was sometimes called by his family was a kind and caring person that only wanted the best for those around him. He often shared his life experiences with other to inspire them to be all that they could be. He will be missed by all those who he touched in life.

He will be lovingly remembered by his father Robert Harris, sister Saundra (Taylor) Beamon (William); Three brothers, Joseph Taylor of New York; Melvin Taylor of North Carolina and Donald Taylor of Patterson, NJ; two aunts Mary Fields of North Carolina and Gladys Farmer (Rev. Wiley Farmer) of New Jersey; six nieces, one nephew, and six great grand nephews and seven great grand nieces, Mattie Taylor Morgan, Cassandra Robinson, Kashia Taylor, Jache Johnson, April Forbes, Shakinah Askew, Christina Bridgers, Robin Taylor, host of cousins, many special friends and church family.

He was predeceased by his mother, grandparents and sister Gwendolyn Taylor.
