Christopher Melvin Smith aka I Culture Freedom born June 6, 1967 to the late Melvin Pierce and late Joyce L. Smith in Bridgeton NJ. Age 58 passed on June 4, 2026.
Christopher Culture Freedom loved to run wild. He was known for his loving spirit and good heart to help others. Culture knew people from all walks of life. There wasn’t anyone he met he didn’t make an impact on whether good or bad. He enjoyed eating and making everyone HUGE Fluffy Pancakes. One of his Great friends would always ride out with him Wayne “Naim” Barrios down for whatever and his dear friend whom helped him get his life right in many areas especially in leading him into sobriety Michael Williams.
Culture Freedom was a barber and a great landscaper. He loved doing things and going out with his brother Roscoe “Pop”. He also enjoyed working in the fields and in nature with his mother-in-law. He was also a caregiver to his father-in-law when he became ill. Culture met his wife in 1989. When he was 22 and her at the tender age of 19. He loved his 3 children and his grandkids dearly. He would always talk about his Aunt Glenda Ledbetter whom he loved very much and his Favorite Uncle Pete.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 36 years Casandra DuBose, his son and Daughter in law Byron & Tia DuBose, his son in law and eldest daughter Obadiah and Nikkiah Taylor, his Babygirl Quy’Asia DuBose and Fiance Brian Lehman, 8 grandchildren; Aaron, Tyheim, Ty’Niya, King-Nakiyh, Casandra, Jade, Kennedy and Maurice. A host of brothers and sisters; Rosco (Pop) Hall, Edna Hall, Mardika (Pat) Hall, Josh Blake, Tyrone Blake, Torie Watson, Chineta Watson, Sam Watson, Melvin Watson Jr., Carlon Watson, Ron & Jeron Watson, a Fav Nephew Brian “Stevie” Simmons Jr.
Culture Freedom was predeceased by his Mother Joyce L. Smith his father Melvin Pierce his brothers; Casey Watson, Devon Watson and Melvin Blake his beloved sister Joyce Smith.
