Craig Elton Maven's Obituary

Craig Elton Maven was born August 7, 1991 in Bridgeton, N.J. He was the only child of Carol Maven and Kirk Maven. He suddenly departed this life on December 14, 2021 to be with the Lord.

As a child he attended church at Voice of Deliverance under Pastor Charles Hawkins. He was invited as a youth to visit Christlike Ministries by a friend and became a member shortly after. Craig encouraged his mother to join the church which became instrumental in her spiritual growth. He enjoyed attending bible study and Sunday School. Pastor Darlene Bryant recognized his love for music and sponsored his guitar lessons.

Craig was educated in the Vineland public school systems. He graduated with a G.E.D. and went on to attend Cumberland County Technical School and graduated with a certification in Culinary Arts and Hospitality. He worked in various restaurants as a cook and food prep such as ShopRite, Outlaw Burgers and Double Eagle Saloon. He was also known to cater and host various events. Craig loved dogs and after his longtime dog Angel passed, he cared for a friend's dog named Nahla which he would later adopt. Craig was a very creative and artistic person. He had a love for music and Rap and performed in his own videos. He had a design called 800 brand which was worn by a host of his friends on t-shirts and sweatshirts. He most recently collaborated with his cousins on a new clothing design called Club Neph. Craig had the ability to draw people from all walks of life and cultures, his mom often told him that was a gift. Although he was an only child the house was often filled with family and friends. These friendships have lasted throughout the years. Craig was known for his infectious laugh and will truly be missed.

Craig leaves behind to cherish his memory: his mother, Carol Maven of Vineland, N. J., his father Kirk Maven and stepmother Kathy Maven of Millville, N.J., step sister Cherish Marolda of Cape Coral Florida, his grandmother Faith Maven of Maryland and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Francisco and Ernestine Cruz, and paternal grandfather John
