Debbie Ann
Lewis
March 18, 1961 – August 12, 2022
Debbie Ann Lewis of Williamstown, NJ transitioned this life on August 12, 2022, at home with her family. Debbie was born on March 18,1961 to Clara Mae Lewis Batie and Scott Lewis Sr. at Newcomb Hospital, Vineland, New Jersey.
Deb as she was often called was baptized at an early age by the late Pastor Charles Harvey Sr. at St Paul's Missionary Baptist Church. She also attended Christian Love Church in Vineland under the leadership of the late Bishop Johnson and Pastor Karen Johnson. She returned to St Paul 8 years ago under the leadership of her current Pastor, Rev Darwin W. Ransom. Deb loved the Lord and knew Him as her Savior.
She moved from Vineland to Williamstown with her family, Darwin and Wanda Ransom due to illness. Deb remaining independent and moved to Glassboro where her brother Stanley Lewis and niece Jelisa Ransom resided with her. Due to her failing health, she returned to Williamstown remaining with family until she was called home to be with the Lord.
Debbie graduated from Vineland Sr High School in 1979. After graduating from high school, she attended Cumberland County College to further her education in Early Childhood Education. Deb was employed by the Vineland Developmental Center until she retired due to illness. Deb was a Miami Dolphin fan until she began following Michael Vick with the Atlanta Falcons and the Philadelphia Eagles. She continued to follow the Eagles and became a die-hard fan. When the Eagles won the super bowl no one could beat her team spirit. Deb was a collector of change (Pennie's). If you laid down any change that consisted of pennies, you could best believe that they were gone when you returned for your change. She loved to pick up pennies so we started dropping them outside so that on our walks she would find them and pick them up.
Deb was the oldest sister of seven siblings. She never married or birthed any children of her own, but she was the godmother to many children during her life. She always enjoyed spending her money and time on her nieces and nephews of whom she loved as if they were her own children. Deb poured her love into her dogs; Shaffer, Bayre, Maxwell and Skyler which were her babies. Debbie was artistic and creatively skilled in drawing with a great love for photography and the arts. Deb took guitar lessons and traveled with her photography equipment in her car. Deb had a style all her own and a smile that would light up a room. She could make sweatpants and an oversized t-shirt look stylish. Deb loved going to the movies and eating movie popcorn. She would always ask "Can you go and get me a large popcorn from the movie theater?" She enjoyed watching her man, Denzel Washington and eating her popcorn.
,She leaves many special friends to cherish her memories Keisha Hunter, Peggie Jones, Joyce DeMary, Charlene Smith, Patricia Waters. Debbie has been afforded the opportunity to be a great friend to many from her childhood up into her adult life who have been lifetime friends no matter where life has taken them.
