Denise Moore-Smith, affectionately known as "Fussell", was called home on July 28, 2025. Denise was born the youngest of nine children to John and Alice Moore on February 23, 1953.

Denise grew up in Woodbury, NJ and attended Deptford Public School System. After graduating, Denise studied medical billing and data entry at Lincoln Technical College.  She worked in this field until her retirement in 2015.

Denise married the love of her life, Arthur Smith, Jr. on December 17, 1977. From that matrimony came three daughters. In 1987, they moved their family to Georgia where they both resided until their passing.

Denise was a Christian who always stayed involved in church. Denise loved spending time with her family and friends as well as traveling.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alice Moore; husband, Arthur Smith, Jr. "Ott"; brothers, Clellan "Cottie" and Morrell "Relly"; sisters, Geraldine, Bertha "Bert", Helen "Juanita", and Harolyn "Ms. Pluggs". Left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Alicia Moore-Herron (Brodrick), Lithonia, GA; Malika and Brandi Moore of Conyers, GA; daughter/niece Terria Moore, Woodbury, NJ; a sister Janice Harvey, Woodbury, NJ and a brother Reginal " Plute" Moore of Delaware; grandchildren, Keinan Moore, Malique Clarke, Omaria Miller and Romelo Moore; great granddaughters, Malaijah and Malaiya Clarke, and Kend'l Moore; childhood friend Cheryl Dunbar; longtime friends Karen Green, Tona Reliford, Barbara Coleman, Rome Myers, the Favors, Wynn, and Reid families; along with a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family and friends.
