Dennis V Guyton's Obituary

Rev. Dennis V. Guyton was born on August 11, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pa., the 3rd of 10 children to the late Rev. Dr. Horace Guyton and Vivian (Holmes) Guyton.
He attended Delsea Regional H.S., Franklinville, NJ and Camden County Vocational where he majored in cabinet making and woodwork.  He joined the Marines Corp, but his health did not permit him to complete training. Though he had a passion to serve his country.
In 1978 he began a career with the state Teaching Parent Program for over 30 years.
1988-1995 He attended the Christian Education of Emmanuel Bible College at Faith Bible Church Vineland, NJ.
He was ordained to preach the gospel in 1996 and was called to Pastor New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Rosenhayn, NJ in 1998 until his health began to fail him. Under his pastorage the church did missions in Buff Bay, Jamaica on several occasions, to China and North Korea.
Left to cherish his memory are:  His adopted daughter Diamond Poyer, mother Vivian Guyton, 4 brothers; Rev. Dr. Derek Guyton (Shirley), Dean Guyton spouse Donna, Horace Guyton Jr. spouse Christine, Rev. Zachary Guyton spouse Shereen, 3 sisters; Deborah Bogan spouse Rev Claybon Jr. II, Rev. Denise Lee and Rev. Desiree Guyton, God daughter Monique Ford, Marcus Graves and many precious nieces and nephews.
His congregation at New Jerusalem Baptist Church, Rev. Donnie Garrison Pastor and wife Heather.  A host of friends.
