Deryl Harris was born December 2, 1955 in Chicago, IL. He was the eldest of eight children born to the union of Wade Andrew Harris and Eria Jean Shelly. All whom preceded him in death. Deryl was educated in the public-school system of Chicago, IL. He graduated from DuSable High School in 1976.

In 1980 he relocated to Bridgeton, NJ with Carleta Payne to start his new life and adventure.

Deryl accepted Christ at an early age. He later became an active member of the Jehovah Witness, where he served faithfully until his death.

Deryl retired from Clement Pappas & Co. after 33 years of service. He held the positions of forklift driver and machine operator.

Deryl was a very caring and giving person. Known to Jehovah Deryl greatest love was his family.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his devoted daughter Taleana Harris; 7 siblings, Sharon, Diane (Raymond), Angela (Enrique), Apollos, Marcus (Nina), Chermayne and Lynette; 6 grandchildren, Laightyon Jones, Eric Lane Jr., Eryhn Lane, Taleah Lane, 'Leana Lane and Derric Lane; best friend Victor Seeger; and a host of relatives and friends.
