Our beloved Dorandria Niia Jordan, affectionately known as Niia entered into eternal rest unexpectedly on April 15, 2025, just two days before her 51st birthday. She was born on April 17, 1974, at Bridgeton Hospital to her devoted parents Larry and Helen Jordan.
A proud graduate of Bridgeton High School, class of 1992. Niia touched the lives of many with her radiant spirit, compassion, and
unwavering positivity. She dedicated 25 years of service to Ancora State Hospital, where she was admired and respected by both colleagues and patients for her professionalism, empathy and warm heart.
Niia had a deep love for life and found joy in the simplest of pleasures, vacations with her close-knit family, Saturday outings with her father, and special moments with her loving fiancé, Scott Shelton. She was known for her infectious laugh, her incredible sense of style, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome and seen. Her magnetic personality and genuine heart made her a friend to all and a beacon of light to those who knew her.
Niia was a woman of faith, who possessed A driven loyalty to Christianity, as well as to her nieces and nephews whom she held closely to her heart, they were inseparable to her. Niia carried pictures and memorabilia of them with her everywhere she resided and on her person at all times.
She had a natural gift for making people smile and lifting spirits wherever she went. Whether it was through her comforting words, thoughtful actions, or impeccable fashion sense. Niia left a lasting impression that will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
Dorandria leaves behind a rich legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by her loving parents Helen and Larry Jordan, fiancé and life partner Scott Shelton, sister Yvette (Raymond) Brown, brother Larry (Wandra) Jordan, beloved grandmothers Floria Miles and Sallie Broughton, a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends all of whom will forever carry her memory in their hearts and that were blessed by her presence.
She was predeceased in death by her maternal grandfather Oliver Miles and paternal grandfather Joseph Broughton.
