Dorene (Bailey) Cole was called home to be with the Lord on December 24, 2021, after an extended illness. Dorene was born in Nicholsville (Sweet Water), Alabama, on January 22, 1947, to the late Joseph and Mertha Bailey. Dorene was raised in Alabama by her grandparents Earl and Ella Jones. While there, she attended Morengo High School. Once she graduated high school at 18, Dorene moved to Vineland, New Jersey, reuniting with her parents and siblings. Dorene worked for the Manischewitz Company before the birth of her children. She remained a stay-at-home mom until her children were school-aged. She then began cleaning houses for several residents all over the Cumberland County area. Dorene met Nathaniel (affectionately known as Jimmie) Cole and married on February 14, 1970. Dorene loved to watch soap operas and talk on the phone with her mother, sister, and aunts. She was a fantastic cook and could be found in the kitchen almost every night of the week. Dorene attended church at Triumph the Church and Kingdom of God in Christ, where her mother presided. She loved attending church with her daughter, and she especially enjoyed the singing. Even though Dorene couldn't really sing herself, that never stopped her from trying.

Dorene leaves to cherish her memory her children Kenneth T. Cole, Jimmie N. Cole Jr., and Natalie M. Cole-Warters (Michael) all of Vineland, NJ, her brother Emmanuel Bailey of Glassboro, NJ, her grandchildren Darnell Pierce of Atlanta GA, Kayla Dagostino of Brooklyn, NY and Imani Warters of Vineland, NJ. Also, her aunts were more like her sisters, Josephine Patterson of Thomasville, AL, and Geneva Sewell of Vineland, NJ. Along with a host of cousins' nieces, nephews, and friends. Two cousins were very near and dear to her, Leroy Jones and Bernice LaSure.

Dorene was preceded in death by her parents Mertha and Joseph Bailey, her husband Nathaniel (Jimmie) Cole Sr., her brother Elisha Bailey and her sister Linda Chaney.
