Doris Hudson was born March 20, 1941 in Braggs, Alabama. She was the fourth of six children born to the late Mattie D. and Clyde Moorer. She departed this earthly life on Wednesday, September 3, 2025.

At an early age Doris gave her life to Christ and joined New Salem Baptist Church. Doris graduated from Central High School in Mosses, Alabama. She then later moved from Clewiston, Florida in 1968 to Yorktown, New Jersey. She married the late Carikin C. Hudson and they were blessed with three beautiful children, Civet, Cynthia, and Carikin.

Doris was a fun-loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved cooking, farming, and was a great seamstress.

Doris was preceded in death her son Carikin Hudson, granddaughter Montaya Marshall, siblings Lucille Rudolph, Mattie Mae Reese, Johnnie "Pop" Clyde Moorer, Thomas "Sonny" Moorer and Ruthie Oliver.

Doris leaves to cherish her memory, two children, Civet Hudson and Cynthia Hudson. Five grandchildren Quiana Wise, De'Mont Marshall, LaSheeka Hudson, Daniel Hudson, and Darius Hudson. Two great grandchildren  Sarai A. Thomas  and Makari M. Marshall. As the Favorite Aunt she leaves to cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. There were various individuals whose relationships with Doris were extra special.
