Dorothy Murray, age 82, of Woodbine, NJ, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 14, 2020, surrounded by family.  She was born March 26, 1938 in Engelhard, NC to the late James Earl Gibbs and Mary Elsie Gibbs.  Dorothy,  affectionately known as "Dot" or "Aunt Dot" was the wife of Jonathan Murray.

In 1943, the Gibbs family moved to Cape May Court House, NJ where Dorothy attended Middle Township Public Schools, Cape May Court House.  On October 19, 1956, Dorothy Gibbs and Jonathan Murray united in Holy Matrimony. This union was blessed with 8 children.

As an adult, she had been formerly employed as a Head Start bus driver and later employed by Woodbine Developmental Center until her retirement.  Dorothy a consummate mother and homemaker loved to cook, work in the  garden, doing puzzle books and she also enjoyed shopping at the vegetable and fruit stands on Route 47.

Dorothy leaves many fond and precious memories for her two sons, Jonathan (Jeannie) and Gary; six daughters, Camille, Dawn, Gail, Denise (Harold), Paula (Matthew) all of New Jersey and Darlene of Virginia; 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; 3 siblings, Kathryn, Dennis, Juanita and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

Dorothy was a loving wife of 63 years to Jonathan Murray who preceded her in death on October 23, 2019.  She was also predeceased by her siblings, Mattie-Bell, Shirley, Aldine, Ralmus, Johnny, Jerry and Claude Gibbs.
