Dwayne Lamont Parker, Sr.'s Obituary

Pastor Dwayne Lamont Parker, Sr. (48) of Quinton, New Jersey departed this life at home after a brief illness on Friday, September 13, 2024.  He was born to the late Bishop Nathaniel Parker, Sr. and the late Evangelist Sally Mae Smith-Parker on December 9, 1975, in Bridgeton, New Jersey.  He was affectionately called "Pastor Parker" by both saints and friends.

Pastor Parker completed his education within the Fairfield Township School System where he graduated from Cumberland Regional High School in Bridgeton, New Jersey in 1994.  During his high school years, he was an All Conference basketball player.  After graduating high school, Dwayne attended Delaware Tech in Wilmington, Delaware.

On April 26, 1997, Pastor Parker married his high school sweetheart, Kim Pitts.  He would often say that he always knew as a teenager that he would marry a girl named Kim and that he did.  They affectionately called one another "Babe."  He never wanted to leave Kim's side.  When you would see one the other wouldn't be too far away.  A close friend would fondly refer to them as "Barack & Michelle Obama."  They were a beautiful and loving couple.

Pastor Parker was previously employed at Leone Industries,  Gateway Foundation Substance Abuse Program as a counselor at South Woods State Prison, and currently employed as a Instructional Technician for the State of New Jersey at South Wood State Prison in Bridgeton, New Jersey since 2007.
Pastor Parker received Christ as his personal savior in 1995.  He joined hard to In His Image Ministries in 1999 and in 2001, Bishop Thompson ordained him as a Minister of the Gospel.  He soon attended Cumberland Bible Institute now Last Day Remnant Bible College (LDRBC) where he became a Certified Evangelical Training Association Instructor.  He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theology and was ordained an Elder.  Through the laying on of hands by Bishop Thompson and the presbytery, he was consecrated to serve as Assistant Pastor of In His Image in 2006.  Later he accepted the call of Pastorship under Bishop Thompson.  During his ministerial journey, Pastor Parker received an honorary Master of Theology Degree from LDRBC.
Pastor Parker loved the church and served wherever needed.  He served as the Sunday School Superintendent, Coordinator of Men's Ministry, Committee member of Couples Ministry, member of Trustees, Bachelor and Master Level Bible College Instructor and visionary for the In His Image Vision Team.  Additionally, the National Congress of Black Women of Washington DC recognized Elder Parker for outstanding community service.  He received letters of commendation from State and County Officials along with the Juvenile Detention Center Directors for exceptional leadership and volunteer work.  Pastor Parker also served with his brothers, Apostle Robert Parker and Elder Terry Parker as the President of the Kingdom Builders.
Alongside of serving in ministry and leading the Body of Christ with spiritual instruction, Pastor Parker was an entrepreneur.  He was the Founder and Director of the Crossover Basketball Mentorship Program where he taught kids in the community the art of playing basketball.  He was also the Founder of Recharge Lifestyle Apparel and Fitly Juices.  His most recent endeavor and passion was Big Boy Trades where he was studying to be financially dependent on the stock market.

Pastor Parker was a mastermind in so many things.  He often spoke of his God-given gift to recite chapters of Scriptures by memory in one sitting.  One of the Scriptures that he recited the most during the ending of his earthly journey was the 3rd Chapter of Ezekiel where the Lord told him to eat the whole roll.  This is the Scripture Pastor Parker said he was called to ministry from.

Pastor Parker leaves to mourn his wife, Kim Parker; three sons: Christopher Pitts (Rachel), Dwayne Parker, Jr. (Kwanae) of Bridgeton, New Jersey and Nicholas Parker of Quinton, New Jersey.  Two daughters: A'ziyah and K'Liani Parker of Quinton, New Jersey.  Six grandchildren: Caiden, Camaal, Khamryn, Brielle, Kylee and Chloe of Bridgeton, New Jersey.  Three brothers: Nathaniel Parker, Jr. (Dorothea) of Sicklerville, Apostle Robert Parker, Sr. (Cileste) and Terry Parker, Sr. (Deana) of Bridgeton, New Jersey.  Five sisters: Gwendolyn Jacobs (Bill) of Georgia, Gloria Thomas, Theresa Parker of Bridgeton, New Jersey, Barbara Parker of Upper Deerfield, New Jersey and Angelia Parker of Cherry Hill, New Jersey.  An Aunt Lillie Lowther of Dublin, Georgia.  A mother-in-law, Lorraine Pitts; and a father-in-law, Willie James Pitts both of Bridgeton, New Jersey.  A host of nieces, nephews and Godchildren.
