Obituary

Earnestine (nee Dixon)Stocks daughter of the late Anticious and Blanche Bertha Dixon was born on February 15, 1920 in Quitman County Georgia, one of eleven children.

Saturday September 5, 2009, Earnestine departed this life after a lengthy illness at her home surrounded by her loving children.

She was a faithful member of Trinity AME, Gouldtown for over 60 years, serving as a missionary and member of Stewards Board #1. She also attended 1st Baptist Church, Mizpah, NJ with her late husband.
Earnestine was employed as a factory worker at Seabrook Farms, Seabrook, NJ for over 30 years, and retired from Wheatons in Mayslanding, NJ. She will be sorely missed as a mother,"granclrnother, great grand mother, aunt, neighbor and friend.

Earnestine leaves to cherish her precious memory six children, Blanche Bertha Wright, James (Ivare) Peterson, Anticious (Carolyn) Peterson, Marian (Lewis) Loatman, John (Andrea) Peterson, Olivia (Michael) Taylor; extended children, Eddie Cortez, Julie Campbell, brother Jqhn Dixon, Morristown, NJ; sister Kathleen Miller, Newark, NJ; James Peterson of Gary, Indiana; visiting angel Agnes "sugar" Green; step children Edward and Lionel Stocks, Carolyn Gray, Reatha Stocks, Evelyn Stocks, Darlene Stocks, and Beatrice Norman, 18 grandchildren, 22 great and 12 great great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her late husband Ernest Stocks, sister(s) Olivia Willis, Lurlean Green. Maeola West, Cornelia Lovely, Vestee Dixon, brother Walter Neabutha Dixon, James Dixon, Albert Dixon. grandson Reginald Wright, great granddaughter Shawnee Peterson, grand twins Kamise and Kasii Knox, two infants, nephew Thornton Willis, and daughter in law Verdon "Pnky" Gay.

She is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Moms favorite saying and living testament was "Pray as you go".

Services will be held Saturday at 1:PM at the Trinity A.M.E. Church 1170 Bridgeton-Millville Pk. Gouldtown, Pastor Michael Keene Officiiating and former Pastor Alvin Stokes, eulogist. Interment Fordville Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing Saturday at the church from 11am-1pm.
