Ella Mae Lee's Obituary

Ella Mae (Worthen) Lee departed this world on December 6, 2020, at Acuity Specialty Hospital in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Ella was born on November 18, 1937, in Davisboro, Georgia to the late Earnest and Runell (White) Worthen.

Ella spent most of her youth in Georgia, where she attended Elementary School at the age of five. She had to stop going to school to help her family. She had to watch the smaller kids under the tree in the fields while the grown-ups worked. Later in her life she met her husband Jimmy Lee Sr. and married in 1955 and later relocated to Newfield, NJ. She was employed for a few years at the Vineland Developmental Center, taking care of mental health patients and she worked various other jobs. She was a member of Walk of Faith Ministry in Mizpah, NJ.

Ella became a homemaker and she loved to take care of her children and everyone else who was in need of love and help. She also enjoyed singing while she made some amazing food. Her homemade biscuits were her trademark. Everyone had to eat them. The amazing part is you didn't have to stay in her home to eat. She would feed anyone that was hungry and she didn't even need to know your name, all she had to hear was I'm hungry.

She was affectionately called Mrs. Ella, Mama or Ella Ella all depending on who was calling her. She opened her home to everyone and anyone who needed to rest their eyes. She would say "find somewhere and sleep" without a second thought. Her heart was that big. Unselfish was she. She also loved the water (Atlantic City). She would say "I'm going to the water!" She loved her thrift stores or Ang clothing store with clothes and shoes, high heels were her favorite. She would have clothes for all ages and genders. She would say "you never know when someone is going to need something to wear." Ella Mae Lee was truly a special gift that only God can give. We the family were blessed to have part of her in our hearts. To have known her was a blessing from God himself. Ella will never be forgotten. The love she left here will live on through the lives she impacted.
Ella leaves to cherish her life 11 sons; Jimmy (Barb) Lee Jr., Thurston Lee of Bridgeton, NJ, Authur (Heather) Wilmore of Belmar, NJ, Roland (Kim) Lee Sr. of Vineland, NJ, Dorsey Lee, Johnny Lee, Keyon Lee, Shawn Roberts, Jermaine (Tameka) Lee all of Millville, NJ, 5 daughters; Kathy (Pastor
