Fannie Mae Edwards's Obituary

Minister Fannie Edwards was born on September 12, 1954, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She was the fifth child born to Mr. Joe Nathan Moore and Mrs. Julia Ann Moore, both deceased.

She attended and graduated from Holt High School in Holt, Alabama.

On December 28,1971, she married Wayne Edwards Sr. in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Within this union, four children were born: Wayne Jr. (Doris), Veya, Makema (Shawn Sr.) and Yakitta (James III).

In 1974, she and her family moved to Vineland, New Jersey. For nearly twenty years, Fannie worked at Owens Illinois. She and her family joined Friendship Baptist Church in Brotmanville, NJ where she served as a mass choir member, youth advisor and a Sunday School teacher. After twenty years, God led the family to Shiloh Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverand Dr. James A. Dunkins, where she remained until the Lord called her home.

During her service at Shiloh Baptist Church, she became a deaconess and a licensed minister of the gospel. She served in many capacities including: singing as a lead vocalist on Shiloh Mass Choir's recording debut, a ministry leader for the Sick and Shut-In, and a Women's Ministry leader. Above all, she was a dedicated servant to her Pastor and First Lady whom she loved, as well as her church family.

Minister Fannie had a passion for serving and learning. She was a dedicated chaplain for Inspira Medical Center with over 500 hours of visitations. With great passion and fervor, she mentored young women throughout her community. She prized education and was an avid reader and student of the Bible. She attended Cumberland County College, now known as Rowan of South Jersey and received an Associate's
Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2005.

She enjoyed family gatherings and loved her beautiful children that she called her "babies". Minister Edwards could always be found speaking about God and evangelizing to those she encountered. She was infamously known for speaking about peaches and reminiscing about her childhood of eating the best peaches and plums ever grown. One thing we can always say, is that Minister Edwards was a fashionista
and trend setter with her intricate designs of hats, church attire, and shoes!

In her last days, her favorite scripture became: Philippians 2:5 "Let this be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus".

She leaves behind to cherish her memories 5 brothers: Joe Moore, Forrest Moore, Perry Moore (deceased) Carlos Moore, Anthony Moore; all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Celestine Moore-Ditaway of Indiana, Patricia Ann Bunton of Delaware, Mary Williams and Thelma Lawson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. In addition to her four children, she has eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, distant relatives, her Shiloh family, and friends who love her dearly.
