Wiggins
September 26, 1939 – November 15, 2025
Geraldine Wiggins, 86, of Vineland, New Jersey, passed away peacefully
at home on November 15 th , 2025 surrounded by love.
Born in Fayetteville, North Carolina to the late, Arthur and Pauline
Tendall. She attended Fayetteville public schools and graduated from
E.E. Smith High School, and later attended Cumberland County College
(now Rowan College of South Jersey).
Geraldine met and married her forever soldier, MSG Joe L. Wiggins, and
together raised five children while traveling all over the world with the
United States Army. Born into a gifted and talented musical family, singing has always been
a way of life for Geraldine. Good and not so good times, there was
always a song of praise on her lips. Whether from the back pew or the
choir stand, her strong and powerful voice could fill a room and invoke
a response to praise the God she loved and served faithfully.
Geraldine served as church pianist at St James AME Church in Milmay,
NJ for many years before becoming a member of Union Baptist Temple,
Bridgeton, NJ. She sang all over the country with many choirs, Cleo
Brown's Emergency Choir, GMWA Philadelphia Mass Choir, Union
Baptist Temple Mass Choir, and The Temple Choir.
She was formally employed at Bishop McCarthy Residence, Vineland,
NJ, Harrah's Casino, Atlantic City, NJ and Vineland Public School
Transportation Department, Vineland, NJ.
Geraldine leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Deborah Wiggins,
Brenda Hilton (Ronald), and Jackie Harris – Daughters-in-Law, Lisa
Wiggins and Michael Wiggins - Siblings, Ethel Minter, John Tendall
(Ethel), James Tendall, Lenard Tendall, Jacqueline Hart, David Williams (Sarah) – Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, Breon Mason
(London and Olivia), Eric Wiggins, Amodea Hilton (Antyon and Amir),
Jessica Mizell, Jessica Wies, Nicholuas Searles (Rhyli Sue and Kellie Rae),
Aaron Wiggins, Cory Wiggins, Emily Haddock, Brandon Haddock, and a
host of nephew, nieces, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joe L. Wiggins, sons, Howard
Wiggins and Aaron Wiggins, son-in-law, Stu Harris, brother-in-law,
Darnell Hart, daughter-in-law, Kellie Wiggins, and grandson, Nicholas
Searles.
Favorite scripture: Philippians 4:13 KJV "I can do all things through
Christ which strengthens me."
