Gussie M White's Obituary

GUSSIE MAE WILLIAMS WHITE, daughter of the late Rev. Augustus C. Williams and Hannah Hadley Williams departed this life on June 30, 2021. She was born on April 13, 1928, in Amsterdam Ga. and moved to Bridgeton NJ. at the age of 9.

Gussie was educated by the Bridgeton Public School system. In 1949 she married Walter J. White. They were married for 45 years. She was employed by Owens Illinois for 39 years until her retirement in 1982. Gussie loved the lord and accepted Christ at an early age. She was a faithful member of Union Baptist Temple Church for years and served on the Senior Usher Board.

Gussie had a love for drawing and painting when she was younger. Other hobbies she enjoyed throughout her life were gardening, knitting, and cooking for all who came to visit. She has fed the souls of many in our family over the years. Reading her bible every morning was part of daily routine. Her favorite scripture is Psalms 23. Her love of God was shared constantly with her grandchildren because she knew the importance of accepting Christ especially at an early age.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Hannah Jones (Kenneth) of Wilmington, DE., Daniel White (Francis), John White (Josephine), and Thelma Calaff (Santos) all of Vineland, NJ. Grandchildren: Hope, Kenneth, LaToyia, Terri (Damon), Daniel Jr., Walter, Jennifer, Kyle, Kenan (Natacha) and Savannah. She also has 19 great-grandchildren & 4 great-great- grandchildren.
