Harry
White
January 19, 1934 – March 16, 2023
Harry White peacefully transitioned, while his family slumbered, at his residence on Thursday, March 16, 2023. He was born January 19, 1934 to the late Thomas B and Fannie H. White in Howardsville, VA. Harry was educated in the Virginia school system. At the age of 16, he left Virginia and came to New Jersey where he stayed with his brother James.
Later on in life, Harry met the woman of his dreams in her parents' flower garden, on Burlington Road in 1970. In 1976 he plucked that flower, named Sarah, from the garden and she became his wife. From this union bloomed their daughter Damita and 3 grand-daughters who were the "residential" perennial blooms of his life.
Harry had a diverse employment background which included: Sam's Rambler, Charlie Veale Motors, Richard Motors, Carter Lincoln-Mercury and Tom Goggle Motors, where he honed his mechanical skills. He also worked as a Constable for the Bridgeton Police Department, Edwards and Son Funeral Home and later as a devoted supporter of the Cumberland County Office on Aging and Meals on Wheels. Post retirement, when not assisting other senior citizens in need, Harry could be found operating, what his wife and daughter affectionately named "Harry's Limousine Service, transporting individuals to medical appointments, pick-up groceries or just for a country drive to get them out of the house. He also was a dependable and devoted "Pop-Pops Uber" service for his grand-daughters and faithfully watched over the children as they got off the buses at the end of the day.
He was also known for his ability and willingness to preform "Bob The Builder" services by doing repairs in and out of homes as well as vehicles. NO matter the time or day, you could always get a good laugh or crazy story from Harry. He was also well known for his LARGE and caring heart, stylish dress and the hot wheels he was driving.
He leaves his loving family, his devoted wife Sarah, daughter Damita (Anthony) of Bridgeton NJ, daughter Rita of Lancaster PA, daughter Cynthia (Artis) of Jacksonville FL, son Randy (Dinah) of Millville NJ, God-daughter Sylvia of Middletown DE, and a Special daughter Daneen (Damon) of Glassboro NJ. His second heatbeats his grandchildren Damia, Alyrica, and De'Aira; Randy Jr, Anita, Rahmir and Rashon; Dontay, DaSean, and Danee; Chaney; Chana (Leo), Candice and Mickell. His great-grandchildren Cameron and Liam. His three sisters, Louise, Mary, and Gretchen of Howardsville VA. He was pre-deceased by his twin sister Carrie; brothers Thomas, John and James and sister Jessie. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will have Harry White stories for generations to come.
