It is with great sadness that the family Hayward R Collins Jr announce his sudden passing on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the age of 78 at Inspira Hospital.

Richard or Ricky as he was loving called will be remembered by his children Rollin(Amanda), Lynda, Justin; grandchildren, Veronica, Dezarell, Kamilah, Desiraye; mother DeAlma; sister Yvonne; brother Carlos and numerous other family members and friends.

Richard was predeceased by his father, Hayward Sr.

Richard was born in Kansas City, MO. He was a graduate of the class of 1964 from Central High School. Two years after graduating, Richard joined the Navy. He served from September 1966-September 1974. After his years in the Navy, Richard remained on the east coast and eventually settled down in New Jersey. There he worked for the State of New Jersey Dept of Treasury and would ultimately retire from the position he held with the state. He was a member of the Garden State Elks Lodge 1534 for many years. He was an avid Kansas Chiefs fan, often texting everyone "How about those Chiefs." after every win. His passions included music and dancing.
