Helen Judith
Lincoln
Jan 3, 1945 — Sep 11, 2026
Helen Judith Lincoln, affectionately known as “Judy,” peacefully went home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2026, at the age of 81, following a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis and other health complications.
She heard the voice of Jesus say: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." —Matthew 11:28
Helen was born on January 31, 1945, in Bridgeton, New Jersey, to the late Dorothy Anita Matthews Garland and Charles Justin Garland. She was educated in the Bridgeton Public School system and enjoyed sharing her gift of song as a member of her high school choir.
During her high school summers, Judy spent time in Wildwood, New Jersey, where she waited tables and enjoyed the beach. She also explored New York City, experiences that sparked her lifelong interest in learning.
Following her graduation, Helen was accepted into the Newcomb Hospital training program, where she studied to become a medical laboratory technician. After completing the program, she continued her career at Bridgeton Hospital and later Millville Hospital. Helen found great fulfillment in providing laboratory tours, training and teaching others, and applying her scientific knowledge to solve complex problems. She faithfully served within the hospital system for more than 30 years before retiring.
Committed to lifelong learning, Helen earned an Associate degree from Rowan College of South Jersey–Cumberland Campus, formerly Cumberland County College. She later earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Rowan University, formerly Glassboro State College.
Helen was a faithful and active member of Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church, where she served on the Stewardess Board. Judy was known for her unwavering faith in God, her strong prayer life, and her devotion to her family.
She leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughters, Michelle Beaver of Bloomfield, New Jersey, and Yvette Lincoln of Mount Laurel, New Jersey; her son of the heart, Ronald Carter of Bridgeton, New Jersey; and her sister, Barbara Harmon of Bridgeton, New Jersey.
She also leaves behind her grandchildren and grandchildren of the heart, Michaela Bennett, Keith Bennett, Michael Mosley, Shemekia Green, Ebonie Clark, William Green, Ikeya Crawford, Jermone Forrst, Tashe Carter, Kimberly Beaver, Joshua Beaver, Justice Hall, Jordan Hall, and Cameron Carter; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and friends to cherish her memory
