YOUMANS SR., HORACE H.—86, of Woodbine, NJ, departed this earthly life and returned home to his Lord on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Cape Regional Medical Center, Cape May Court House, New Jersey. Horace was born on August 22, 1934 in Ridgeland, SC to the late Deacon Hance C. Youmans and Deaconess Willie Mae Jaudon Youmans. He attended elementary school at the Woodbine Elementary

School and later graduated from Millville High School in Millville, NJ. Upon graduating high school, Horace joined the US Army in 1957 where he became an auto mechanic. He served until his discharge in 1959. Horace was employed as a truck driver and mechanic at Vinci's Express for 56 years. He retired in December 2006. After his retirement, he became a crossing guard at Woodbine Elementary School, where he loved greeting the kids everyday.

Horace served as President of the Woodbine School Board of Education, a Councilman of the Woodbine Borough, a member of the Woodbine MUA, a baseball coach, and member of the Woodbine Recreation Committee. He has also worked as an election poll worker for several years. He was a member of the original First Baptist Church of Woodbine from 1946 to the exchanging of names to SOAR Church, until 2021. He served as President of Trustee Board, member of Senior Choir, Male Chorus, Usher Board, Transportation Committee, Deacon Board and Food Kitchen
Ministry. He also was Vice President of the Food Bank Ministry of SOAR Church for 13 years.

Horace is survived by his loving, faithful, and devoted wife of 37 years, Ida D. Cason Youmans; 9 children; 19 grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; one loving and devoted son-in-law; one loving and devoted daughter-in-law. Special friends: Douglas and Mattie Hatch, of SC; Robert Anderson, of NC and loving neighbors Jose and Flora Feliciano. Also many godchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Horace was preceded in death by his godson Douglas MacArthur Hatch and grandson Joshua Nasserdine.
