Hortense Loise Tiggett was born on May16, 1952, in Bridgeton, NJ to Eloise and the late Leon Cannon.

Hortense was married to her late husband John Anthony Tiggett She passed away peacefully on June 26, 2024.

Hortense known foundly as Tootsie or TootsieRoll was educated in the Bridgeton City schools. She attend Stonybrook College in New York for several Years.

Hortense was employed at various capacities. She retired in 2015 from Wild West Casino in Atlantic City. Hortense attended Second Pilgrim Baptist Church in Cedarville NJ for numerous years.

If you knew Tootsie then you will remember that she always was smiling with those shiny cheeks with a heart of gold. At times, she may have stepped on your toes but it was out of love. Tootsie loved playing spades with her family and sitting around chilling. She loved making sure everyone was was happy.

Hortense was preceded in death by her her husband John Tiggett, her father Leon Cannon her sister Kathleen, her brothers Edward, Eddie, and Leon.

She leaves to mourn; her mother Eloise Cannon; her son John Anthony and Cory Herbert, daughter Porcha Herbert, granddaughter Jomyra Tiggett and two great grand children Lorena Rhoden, Zuriel Rhoden and long time companion Neil Herbert. She also leaves to cherish her siblings Larry Cannon (Kim), Dr. Gust D. Davis Jr, Bernice Johnson, Donna Norman (Kevin), and Carolyn Cannon-Brantley (Albert). She has a host of nieces and nephews.
