Irene Rocco (nee Martinez) went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the Cumberland Manor, Bridgeton, NJ. Irene was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico on October 20, 1927 to the late Lano Guzman and Gregoria Rosado of Puerto Rico.

In spite of Irene having only a sixth grade formal education, she was self taught and became quite an intelligent woman. When she was 16 years old she moved to NYC to live with her brother, to help him and his wife with their children. In 1989, Irene retired from her cashier's position at the Coe & Grey Co., Manhattan, NY, and relocated to South Jersey to live nearer to her son and family.

Irene was a member of Spirit Life Fellowship for 29 years, where she served as a deaconess, and was a joyful volunteer at the Oasis Kitchen, and an aide at Noah's Ark Daycare & Preschool. She was known for her friendliness, compassion, generosity, thoughtfulness and great cooking.

Irene Rocco leaves to cherish her memory two children: Patricia Rocco, Anthony Rocco (Lydia); 5 siblings: Rosalia Guzman, Ana Celia Guzman, Ana Delia Guzman, Lucy Guzman, Christino Guzman; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Antonio Rocco; daughter Antoinette Hinton; 6 siblings: Maria De Los Angeles Bartolomei, Joaking Aquino, Adda Aquino, Carmen Aquino, Raymond Aquino, Antonio Rosado.

Irene was a devoted servant of Christ, a loving mother and  grandmother, and a faithful friend to those who knew her.  She will be missed.
