James Otis Brisbane Jr.'s Obituary

James Otis Brisbane, Jr. was born to the late James O. Brisbane, Sr. and Alberta
Shanks in Philadelphia, PA on February 26, 1943. He was the 2 nd sibling out of sons.
His brothers, Ronald and Thomas Brisbane preceded James in death. At time of death
James lived in Mullica Hill, NJ.

James, known by his loving wife Brenda as JB graduated from Thomas Edison High
School in Philadelphia, PA. James served 3 yrs. in the U.S Army Airborne Division
during the Vietnam War, with the rank of Specialist 4th Class. For his distinguished
service he received, The National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal,
The Combat Infantry Badge 1st. Award, The Expert Badge with Machine Gun Bar, The
Marksman Badge with Rifle Bar and The Parachutist Badge Basic.

After returning from the military, James met and married his soul mate Brenda Boelter in
September 23, 1967. Out of that union were born two beautiful children, a son, Aquel
Lateef Brisbane and a daughter, Tiffany Brisbane Smith. James also has a beautiful
daughter name Katrina Brisbane Dickerson.

James' early career began at Philco Ford and expanded to employment at SEPTA.
James and Brenda moved from Philadelphia to NJ in 1977. Transitioning his
employment to Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey, James became Supervisor
of Janitorial Services, where he worked until he retired in 2012.

James is lovingly known as Poppy to his seven grandchildren, Kiara and Isaiah
Brisbane, Jasmine, Jordan, and Joelle Smith, Sabria & Marcell Coulibaly and Davon
Dickerson. He also has one great grandson, Assane Coulibaly.

James loved eating, traveling and watching T.V., especially football...all day if
necessary.

James is survived by Brenda, his loving wife of 51 years, Aquel Brisbane (son), Tiffany
B. Smith (daughter), Tyrone Smith (son-in-law), Katrina Dickerson (daughter) and John
Dickerson (son-in-law). He lives to mourn, Constance Boelter (mother-in-law), Karen
Abdul Malik (sister-in-law), Gordon Boelter (brother-in-law), Kyle Boelter (brother-in-law)
Kate Boelter (sister-in-law), Jacqueline Brisbane (sister-in-law), Gary Brisbane
(nephew), Marlene Scott (cousin and monarch of the Brisbane family), aunts, uncles,
cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
