Obituary

Jeanetta Clark peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on May 9, 2026, surrounded by her children and a few close friends. She was born on February 9, 1938, in Perry, GA to the late Jimmy Smith and Mattie Dixon.

Jeanetta was lovingly known by many as “Mom Clark.” She had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed and cared for, always ensuring that no one left her home without a great meal. Known for her love of shopping and impeccable style, she was truly a fashionista. She will be remembered for her strong character, outspoken spirit, and unwavering support for those she loved. Whether sharing wisdom, giving “marching orders,” or serving a hearty meal, she made every interaction memorable.

Her nurturing spirit extended far beyond her immediate family. Jeanetta helped raise and support many neighborhood children, making “19 King Drive” a true home away from home. Her doors were always open, her meals were always plentiful, and her love and guidance left a lasting impact on generations of children and families.

Family and friends meant the world to Jeanetta. She warmly greeted everyone with “Hello Darling” and always sent them on their way with a heartfelt “Goodbye,” or “I Love You” that could only come from her. Her love, strength, and unforgettable presence will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Jeanetta dedicated 25 years of service as an Activities Director at Cumberland Manor, where she brought joy, compassion, and care to countless residents and families. She was also an active member of the PTA within the school systems her children attended and was passionately involved with Special Olympics, where she advocated for and supported individuals with special needs.

A woman of faith, Jeanetta was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Cedarville, New Jersey, and later became a member of Shiloh Baptist Church in Vineland, New Jersey.

Jeanetta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose love for family and community touched many lives. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Clark, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage; son, Charles Clark; daughter, Susan Clark; grandson, Ian Henry; brother, Major Culler; and sister, Patricia Newman.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Clarence “Rickey” Smith (Ornessa) of Bonaire, Georgia; Maria McGee (Jerry) of Perry, Georgia; Janice Clark of Vineland, New Jersey; Delphine Clark-Henry of Dover, Delaware; Gregory Clark of Baltimore, Maryland; Brian Clark of Bridgeton, New Jersey; Charlene Clark of Odenton, Maryland; and Willard Clark (Ebonie) of Bridgeton, New Jersey, her sisters, Mahalia Walker Jones and Jacqueline Dixon Knight (Erwin) of Georgia; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; godson, Christopher Jones (Thomasina) of Bridgeton, New Jersey; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.

Jeanetta’s life was a blessing woven with love, strength, faith, and unforgettable memories.
