Jeffrey Lyle Stevenson passed away suddenly at his home in Fairton, NJ on Sunday, September 4, 2022. He was the son of the late Lewis and Ruth (Smith) Stevenson on March 9, 1959 in Bridgeton, New Jersey.
Jeffrey started his life off on Pine Street in Bridgeton, he attended Gouldtown Elementary School and later Bridgeton High School where he graduated as a member of the Class of 1977. Jeffrey enjoyed playing both Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. Shortly after graduation, Jeffrey enlisted in the Marines where he served his country for several years. While in the Marines, Jeffrey met and married his wife, Lydia Orta. After his discharge, he and his wife moved to Racine WI, where he worked as a plating technician at Racine Plating. After returning to New Jersey, Jeffrey worked as a chef at the Rams Head Inn and the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City. He was forced to retire due his health. Jeffrey was an avid fan of the Philadelphia sports teams and was particularly fond of the Philadelphia Eagles. He also loved listening to his funk music and was fond of Parliament and Bootsy Collins.
He leaves behind his wife Lydia (Orta); brothers, Luke Stevenson(Annette) of Missouri, Douglas Stevenson (Donna) of Colorado and Jonathan Stevenson (Janet) of Georgia; his one sister, Cheryl Brown (Maurice) of Bridgeton; his life-long friend, Preston Patterson of Mays Landing; his sons, Erick Moore of Millville, NJ, Joseph Orta of Palm Springs, CA, Jeffrey Stevenson of Los Angeles, CA; his one daughter, Carmella Harris (Dontae) of Racine, WI; nine grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews that will cherish his memory.
Jeffrey was predeceased by one brother, Joseph Stevenson.
