Jesus (Shago) Santiago Gomez passed away peacefully at home with family on Friday, January 15, 2021 after an extended illness. He was born February 19, 1932 in Yauco, Puerto Rico to his parents Juana Gomez and Benito Santiago.

He retired from Venice Maid Foods after a lengthy employment. He was a faithful member of New Bethel AME Church in Vineland, NJ where he served as a Trustee and later became an Honorary Trustee for many years. He also served in the Missionary feeding program feeding the homeless at New Bethel AME Church. He was a past member of the Garden State Lodge Order of the Elks in Brotmanville, NJ. Jesus loved to work in his garage and garden where he supplied many flowers and vegetable to friends and family.

Jesus is survived by stepdaughter Claudia Smith of Vineland, NJ and Jeffrey Johnson, Minotola, NJ. He leaves three grandchildren, Terrence Spencer and Sylvial Galarza of Millville, Tamara and David Morris of Vineland, and Torre Steward of Schenectady, NY, one Goddaughter Dawn Bell of Vineland, NJ.

He is also survived by brother Hernesto Santiago Gomez of Vineland, Sister Maria Santiago of NY, brother Flor Santiago of Florida, Pasquala Santiago Gomez, Lucila Santiago Gomez, Santia Santiago Gomez and Esmeralda Gomez all of Yauco, Puerto Rico, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, Great Grandchildren and Great Great Grandchildren.

Jesus is predeceased by his wife of 55 years Annie Gomez, sister Luz Santiago Gomez of Florida.
