John
Robinson
March 3, 1929 – March 3, 2026
John H. Robinson, age 96, husband of the late Marjorie S. Robinson, went peacefully to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at home after a lengthy illness. He was born on December 3, 1929, to the late John T. Robinson and Vestina Williams Robinson Harris in Chester, PA. At a young age, his family moved to Bridgeton. He was educated in the Bridgeton school system, graduating from Bridgeton High in 1950. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He worked at JD Moore Constructions, Owens Illinois and Ecko Products where he worked until retirement. John married his true love of 70 years on December 26, 1954, and had 5 children. Having been a devoted husband and father, he was a great provider. He always had a job or “made a job” to support his family. He used his pickup truck to assist with odd jobs and was always ready to help others if needed. He accepted Christ and was a longtime member of Union Baptist Temple and served on the Trustee Board. His favorite thing to do was to go fishing. He was NJ’s #1 FISHERMAN!! He thought it a horrible outing if his catch was less than 40 fish! He also loved chauffeuring his beloved around and going out to eat. John leaves to cherish his memories a son, John A. Robinson, Sr., 3 daughters, Deborah Robinson Sykes (Jay) of VA, Sherrie and Sonya Robinson, 4 grandchildren, John A. Robinson, Jr. (Mai) of CO, Nicole Hills, Muhammad Amad of DE, Ibraheem Amad of MD; 4 great grands, Josiane and Jolyse Robinson, London and Kansan Hills, 1 brother, Cleothas Robinson, 2 brothers in-law Eugene and James Roberts, 2 sisters in-law Eva Jenkins and Phyllis Watson, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his wife, mother and father, step-father Clarence Harris, brother, Charles Robinson, baby daughter, Kimberly Robinson (who died at birth).
