John Alfred Taylor's Obituary

John A. Taylor was born February 22, 1954 and received his wings on December 18, 2021. He was born to Samuel & Evelyn Taylor in Ft. Lauderdale Florida.

He attended school at Walker Elementary and completed school at Central Tech in Syracuse, NY. He was a very hard worker and worked as an autobody mechanic.

He moved to San Antonio in 1984 with his fiancé Mary Cunningham and they married in 1988. In San Antonio John worked as a lumber for H.E.B. warehouse.

He loved to work out and keep his body in shape. That's something that he instilled in his son, Shun Booker and all of his nephews. John also loved to dress nice and wear his sunglasses and hats. He never left home without them. John's hobbies were playing cards, jogging, basketball and lifting weights. He always had a weight room everywhere he lived. He loved playing guitar.

He is survived by his ex-wife Mary Cunningham, daughter Apriel Taylor of Syracuse, NY., son Shun Booker of Dallas, TX, daughter Keneisha Cunningham of Syracuse, NY, sisters: Catherine Lamb of Tallahassee, Florida, Dorline Tomlinson of Millville, NJ, Sandra Bradshaw of San Antonio, TX, Cecelia Davis of New Castle, DE, oldest niece Gwen Taylor of New Castle, DE, favorite cousin Gregory Sherman of Syracuse, NY and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

John was preceded in death by his father Samuel and his mother Evelyn, his brothers: Avester Davis and Billy Taylor.
