Julius Wilson Harris, son of the late Wilma Berry Carr and stepson of the late Willie L. Carr, was born on February 26, 1962 in Camden, New Jersey. Julius was educated in the Camden Public School system and became a Certified Nurse Assistant in the mid 1980's. As an early teen he had major spinal surgery to correct his scoliosis. He often shared stories of personally knowing the former U. S. Surgeon General, the late Dr. C. Everett Koop. Although much of his life was spent enduring chronic back pain, Julius was never a slacker. He always worked hard to provide for himself and his family. Prior places of employment include Cinnaminson Manor, Bishop McCarthy's Residence, and the Vineland Developmental Center. For a short time he did private duty nursing through the Shirley Eaves Center in Millville.

Julius loved music....all types of music. His favorite genre was the male groups from the Motown era such as The Temptations, The Stylistics, and The Spinners. As a youth Julius held parties in the family home on weekends and this is where he perfected his disc jockey skills. He referred to himself as "Grand Master Jay". Julius was an avid sports fan, and his favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. Many hours were spent coaching the team from the comfort of his living room.

Julius' proudest moments were becoming a father, first to Tamika L. Davis and then Sharae L. Russell. In 1994 Julius relocated to Bridgeton where he met the love of his life, Miss Rosa Hepburn. The two were united in Holy Matrimony on May 20, 1995 and this union was blessed with two daughters: Claudia Rochelle and Simone Desiree'. Julius was a devoted husband and father. His daughters were the jewels of his heart and he was exceptionally proud of each of them. He also cherished his three grandchildren and two godsons.

Julius was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Cedarville and attended services as his health would allow. He enjoyed the music ministry and the preached word.

In March 2015, Julius reluctantly retired from Ardagh Inc (formerly Leone Industries) due to his increasing respiratory issues.

Julius departed this life on February 17, 2024, leaving to honor his legacy his loving wife of 28 years Rosa; four daughters: Tamika L. Davis of Camden, Sharae L. Russell of Gloucester City, Claudia R. Reed and Simone D. Harris of Bridgeton; three grandchildren: Darin Wilson Jr. of Gloucester City, Syniah Davis and Nyheem Jackson of Camden, five sisters: Jean Andrews of Camden, Gertrude Chang of Blackwood, Carissa Sweet of Maple Shade, Ursula Calloway of Erial, and Andrea Carr of Mullica Hill; four sisters in law: Reatha Ferguson of Crooked Island, Bahamas, Minister Betty Deveaux of Acklins Island, Bahamas, Evang. Janet Hepburn and Elder Valerie Pernell of Bridgeton; 6 brothers-in-law: Clifford Ferguson of Nassau, Bahamas, Hiawatha Faulk of Camden, Tavio Sweet of Maple Shade, Richard Chang of Blackwood, Lee Calloway of Erial, and Deacon Michael Pernell Sr. of Bridgeton; two godsons: Dalen and Dorien Pernell of Millville, and his grand kitty, Magick Harris. In addition to his parents, Julius was predeceased by two siblings: his sister Shirley Faulk and brother Earl B. Harris Sr., nephews Razul Rivera, Marcus Pernell, and William McWhorter; niece Sherida Carr, and brothers in law Rev. Linkwood Ferguson, Donald Deveaux, and Danny Andrews. Julius is also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
