Karla Jean Pope was born on July 31, 1967, in Vineland, NJ, to the late Annette O. Ocasio and Eduardo Ocasio Sr.
Karla attended Vineland Public schools and graduated from Vineland High School, where she began her education in Nursing. In 2019, Karla completed college and received her degree in Master of Science Nursing, from Wilmington University. Karla was an assiduous, dedicated worker for CompleteCare Health Network, where she worked as a nurse and Director of Nursing for 12 years.
In June 1987, she was united in marriage to Fernell Jerome Pope. During this union of 3 3 and one -half years, they were blessed with two children. Karla was a faithful woman, who was filled with love and grace. Her traits reflected in all her works and toward everyone she encountered. She was a devote wife, amazing mother and sister, and an exceptional friend. She loved praising God and spending time with family. She especially enjoyed caring for others, in fact it was her passion.
She was a faithful member of United Fellowship Church where she served in praise and worship, and most importantly was a saved servant of the Lord. On January 18, 2021 at 7:44am, the Lord chose her as a winner to cross the finish line to heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Annette O. Ocasio and Eduardo Ocasio Sr., two sisters, Sharon A. Ocasio and Kathy M. Brihm.
Karla leaves to mourn her loss and celebrate her life, her loving husband Fernell J. Pope; her children, Chavon M. Pope and Chanelle M. Pope; Three grandchildren, Leah L. Benjamin, Nala C. Robinson and Nuri K.J. Robinson; Three sisters, Carmen A. Ocasio (Juan) of Vineland, NJ, Gail Fuller (Curtis) of Newport News, VA, Donna Flores (Tito) of Vineland, NJ; and One brother, Eduardo Ocasio Jr. (Veronica) of Glassboro, NJ. Two sisters -in -law, Trellis Scott of Vineland, NJ and Linda Simms of Vineland, NJ. A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Karla leaves with us her legacy, that will be honored by so many. As we celebrate her life remember her dear words, "I win with Jesus!"
