Kathereen Mary Collins's Obituary

Kathereen Collins, affectionately known as "Peaches", was born on December 4, 1949.  She went on to be with the Lord peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family and friends on May 5, 2022.  She was born on Commissioner Pike at home with the assistance of a mid-wife.  She was born to Mary Crosley and Roosevelt Collins, but she was raised by her Aunt and Uncle Addie and John L. Goolsby (deceased).

Kathereen attended Brooklyn and Alloway Schools.  She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Cedarville, NJ.  Kathereen traveled all over the country.  She loved to sing and dance.  She met many famous people during her travels.  She loved singing in the band with her cousins.  She also enjoyed meeting and singing at concerts with McFadden Whitehead.  She and one of her cousins had the opportunity to ride in a limo with Smokey Robinson from the Revard to  Lafayette Avenue in Brooklyn, NY.  She also had the opportunity to meet the Delfonics as well as "Free Way Ricky Ross" back in the 70's in Camden, NJ.

She was also a member of The Elk's Lodge, where she loved to Bop, Line Dance, and Cha Cha slide.  Kathereen loved to throw parties for the holidays for her family and friends.  She enjoyed playing spades and pinochle as well as watching African Shows, Crime Shows, and her favorite soap opera, "The Young and the Restless."  She held several jobs including Comar Glass and Burger King, but her true passion was taking care of the elderly.  She went to school to be a CNA/LPN and worked at County Hospital and then Cumberland Manor.

When Kathereen became disabled she made her home in Millville, NJ. Kathereen loved hanging out with her grand and great grandkids.  She was always telling them stories about her many adventures back in the day.  She was always laughing and joking.  You could hear her boisterous voice before she came in the room.  She said what she meant and meant what she said.  She knew many people from all walks of life and would happily invite you over for a meal or offer you a cot to sleep on.  Whichever came first and was your need.  She could swim like a fish.  She would teach others how to swim.  She enjoyed riding motorcycles, car races, mummers parades, big top circuses, the Philadelphia Zoo.
