Winchester, Sr.
April 5, 1961 – June 25, 2024
Kevin W. Winchester, born April 5, 1961, in Bridgeton, NJ to the late Mildred Bailey and the late Henry Davis. He was raised by his maternal grandparents, the late Ethel and John Winchester in Springtown, NJ.
Kevin attended his grade school years in Greenwich, NJ and attended Cumberland Regional and graduated "Class of 1980." He was well known for baseball and football, in which he has left his marks in both sports. He received a scholarship in football and attended Friends University, Wichita, KA. After college he returned to his hometown and enlisted in the US National Guards and received an honorable discharge in 1985.
Kevin was employed by Bridgeton Hospital where he worked as a Security Guard until May 1985.He then became a custodian for the Greater Egg Harbor School District for 38 years and joined Cumberland County Vo-Tech family for 19 years. This is when he took ill and retired in April 2023.
Kevin enjoyed spending time with his family and close friends. He loved barbecuing, teaching his grandsons and other kids' football and baseball fundamentals. He enjoyed going to the zoo to see his animals and loved to dance. He loved his family and those Philadelphia Eagles.
Kevin married Lora on July 28, 1984. They were to celebrate their 40th Anniversary on July 28, 2024. In which Kevin's last wish to his wife is to still do the party.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 40 years, Lora Winchester; his daughters, Tanaya (Willie) Tukes of Sicklerville, NJ and Kavon (Kamron) Jones of Mechanicsville, MD, Daneen Winchester, Iyana Winchester both of Vineland, NJ, Chrystal (Laron) Adams of Dennisville, NJ; sons, Kevin Winchester Jr. of Sicklerville, NJ, John Winchester of Vineland, NJ, Brian Winchester of Elmer, NJ and Yarnell (Stanyell) Nock of Springtown, NJ; 37 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Leverna Robinson of Charolette, NS, Kimberly (Walter) Staples, Shelly (Kenneth) Thomas of Millville, NJ, Mildred Davis and Samantha McClendon of Vineland, NJ, Lance (Charlene) Winchester of Seabrook, Kenneth Waldon of Millville, NJ, Larry Everett of Rockingham, NC and Steve Thompson of Vineland, NJ; close friends, Paul Peterson, James Farrow and Albert Hannah and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by granddaughter Alaya Winchester and brothers Brian Bailey, Timothy Winchester, and Vernon Everett.
