Lamont O'Neill Jones, Jr.'s Obituary

Lamont O'Neill Jones, Jr (Bam) age 33 of Rosenhayn, NJ went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 18, 2023.  Born in Vineland, NJ to Giulia (Wayne) Carter, Sr of Rosenhayn and Lamont Jones, Sr of Millville, NJ.
Bam received his high school diploma from Cumberland Regional High School and later he went to Cumberland County College for sociology. Bam's dream was to always do road work so he followed his childhood passion by working for American Iron in Millville, NJ and then at Eastmont Paving in Millville, NJ where he developed his valuable skills as an asphalt paver. These jobs led him to take a promotion for the Local 57 Union in Philadelphia. Bam stayed there for one year before being promoted once again to South State Asphalt in Bridgeton, NJ. This was Bam's absolute dream job one he had talked and prayed about for many years. He worked there for about 2 weeks before going home to be with the Lord. Bam took great pride in his accomplishments and skill set in the asphalt profession. He helped many family and friends by paving their driveways, walkways, and yards. Bam loved to help any and everyone. He just wanted to be a blessing to others.
Everyone who knew Bam spoke of his kind, compassionate, generous, outgoing and respectful nature.  No matter what was going on in his life if you were to ask him how he was doing, he would always say, "I'm Blessed!"  Bam loved his family more than anything. He would call his mother every day, sometimes three or more times a day just to say high and check in with her.  Bam credited his stepfather Wayne Carter, Sr for his fierce work ethic and devotion to his children Savion, Giovani, and Ilanna Jones.  Bam not only encouraged but also taught his Christian and moral values to his children such as saying grace before eating, taking your hat off before entering a house, and addressing adults in a respectful manner.  Bam attended All the Nations Church under Pastor Bermudez.  There was a row in the back of the church dedicated to him and his children so that they could participate in the praise and worship service, which was his favorite part. He enjoyed the praise and was empowered by the messages in the songs. He would always say, "I am a Spartan!" and later was able to say he was a Spartan for God. Bam had a very close relationship with his sister Vanessa.  He would always call her for advice or help whenever he needed it. He would never hang up the phone with her or anyone he cared for without saying, "I love you."  One thing about Bam he didn't like goodbyes. He would call you right back just to say,  "I'll see you later, don't say goodbye." Even though Bam was younger than Vanessa, he looked at her as his little sister and took on the big brother role and protector. He was always smiling and known as the life of any party. He loved having a good time. One of his main hobbies was weightlifting. He taught his two sons the proper way to lift weights and to train for sports.
Bam will always be remembered in the hearts of his children Savion, Giovanni, Ilanna, mother, stepfather, father, two sisters Vanessa Jones, Shanika Carter, three brothers Wayne Carter Jr, Miles Carter, Xavier Jones, brother in law Bruce Bartley, Grandmother Gina Dilisciandio, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, best friend Theylaion Grant other friends and family. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Edna Grant and grandfather Franco Dilisciandio.
