Laura F.
Holley
December 2, 1949 – February 21, 2026
Laura F. Holley entered eternal rest on February 21, 2026, at home under hospice care, surrounded by love. She was 76 years old.
Born on December 2, 1949, in Bridgeton, New Jersey, she was the cherished daughter of the late Earnest Brown and Janie Jackson-Brown. She was educated in the Cumberland County School System.
Laura later moved between Bell Glade, Florida, and New Jersey, building a life centered around family, resilience, and hard work. She held various jobs throughout her life and carried herself with strength and grace. She was a faithful member of Union Baptist Temple, where she found spiritual strength and fellowship.
She was the devoted wife of William "Billy" Holley.
Laura was a loving and proud mother to Joseph "Duck" Brown, William "Stink" Brown, Kenny Holley, and Hodges Brown. She also embraced and loved her honorary daughters, Dorothy Nivens, Tasha Edwards, and Donna Brown, as her own.
She shared a special bond with her twin brother, Lawrence "Peanut" Brown.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Billy; her sons Kenny Holley (Chanel) and Hodges Brown; her siblings Lawrence, Rosie, and Arthea; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and countless loved ones.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Joseph "Duck" Brown and William "Stink" Brown; grandsons, Anthony and Joseph; granddaughter Bianca; six brothers, Charles James, Jessie James, William James, Ernest Jackson, Clarence Brown, and Donald Brown; and six sisters, Martha Nash, Mary Kinder, Maggie Fowler, Anna James, Della McCoy, and Diane Brown.
Laura had an infectious laugh and a smile that would light up any room. When she was around, you knew there would be fun, storytelling, and laughter. Family was her heart, and her presence made every gathering brighter.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
