Lewis Jae Vaughn Sharik Pointer's Obituary

Lewis Jae-Vaughn Pointer was born August 17, 1972 in Newark, New Jersey to Lewis and Bonita Pointer, who both preceded him in death. Lewis
graduated from Rutgers University where he dual majored in Finance and English. Lewis was also a proud alumnus of St. Benedicts Preparatory High School where he always felt the trajectory of his life changed.

Lewis completed post-baccalaureate studies at Rutgers University and always held a strong interest in Entrepreneurship and Finance. Lewis was
employed by Instinet, A Reuters Company where we worked as a Financial Project Manager, however the field did not bring Lewis the inner peace and joy he desired. During his career in Finance, Lewis began to take culinary arts classes throughout New York City and across the globe and made the ultimate decision to leave Finance post 9/11 and fully pursue his passion — creating culinary masterpieces.

Lewis opened his first restaurant in 2002 and went on to open several subsequent restaurants which he successfully operated prior to his shift in health. At which time, Lewis decided to refocus his energy and dedicate his full attention to raising and educating his children.

Lewis loved to create. Lewis was an amazing cook, artist, and visionary. He was so highly creative! If ever there was something bland or dull, he
found a way to make it spectacular! He made everything as beautiful as himself. Lewis was a loving and generous soul. He tirelessly spent his energy and intellect inspiring those around him. He was by all means the great motivator. If presented with a goal, he would provide inspiration and resources on how to increase your goal, execute that goal and win! Lewis was such a special human who gave this world so much more than it gave him back at times!

Lewis is survived by his wife, best friend and life partner of 30 years, Cathy Borden-Pointer. His precious twins, Lewis Blake Pointer, III and Paige
Lauren Pointer. His in-laws, Alphonso and Frances Borden. Two bonus children whose future he agonized over as deeply as his own biological
children, Dr. Ewurabena Plange-Kaye and Javoun Williams. Lewis is survived by one brother, whom he absolutely adored, Bryce Pointer. A sister-in-
law who he also adored, Stephanie Boyce (Ronald). Lewis is survived by two nephews, Brandon and Justin Boyce as well as two nieces, Jamari and
Caidence Pointer. A cousin, who was absolutely more of a brother, Kareem Jackson and his best friend, Stanley Williams. Sister Zeby and Ny-Esha
Lee were incredibly impactful and important women and spiritual pillars for Lewis, as well. Lewis is survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and
friends and his beloved French Bulldog, Bleu! Lewis lived a friend and family filled life so loved and respected by so many close friends and colleagues.
