Leutha "SISSY" Washington was born September 28, 1937 in King and Queen County, Va to the late John Lewis Iverson and Mattie Roy. She entered into eternal rest on November 6. 2024 after being on dialysis for 6 years. Sissy was educated at a school in Indian Neck, Va.

She was surely a people person and that smile always sets the tone. Definitely enjoyed being with her girlfriends and having fun. Just a beautiful soul. Being on dialysis was her biggest challenge but she never once complained because she loved life. We are so proud of her and was blessed to have a wonderful and caring mother for 87 years. We will always love her for fighting to be with us as long as she did. Our warrior. She is the new shining star up in Heaven now resting with God.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her three children, Nathan Holmes of Vineland, NJ, Michelle Doty of Richmond, VA Jerome Washington of Vineland, NJ; a bonus daughter Alexandria Creamer (Ernest) of Millville, NJ and a special daughter Diane Barnes of Bridgeton, NJ, one brother James Johnson of Salida, Ca. and her sister Terry Taylor (Gary Taylor) of Newark, De. four, grandchildren, Latasha Holmes of Raleigh, NC, Aja Jones (Isaac Jones) and Karl Doty both from Richmond, Va. and Percy Washington, San Antonio Tx. three great grandchildren Destiny Thomas and Ayden Jones both of Richmond, Va. and Yanis Holmes of Raleigh, NC, two special cousins Lucille Gray of Millville, NJ and Shirley Patterson of Bridgeton, NJ; three nieces, a nephew and a host of cousins.

She was predeceased by two special friends Eddie Kollock and Inez "Ikey" Wright and her two besties Dora Whitaker and Ruth Jean Whimbish of Bridgeton, NJ.
