Lynda D
Blount
Jan 31, 1951 — Jun 30, 2018
Lynda Darnell Blount, was born to the late Charles Thomas Blount Sr. and the late Cloreda Blount (Selby) on January 31, 1951 in Bridgeton, NJ. She was raised in Dividing Creek and settled in Vineland. Lynda graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1969 and after graduating she matriculated at the Cumberland County College in 1972, to obtain her Associates Degree in Secretarial Science. She continued to take courses in her profession and was also working towards her certification in Drug Abuse and Alcohol Counseling at Cumberland County College.
To know Lynda is to love Lynda and she was loved by everyone. She had a bright smile that would light up the room and a very pleasant disposition. She was always giving and devoted to her son. She was soft-spoken and would give you the clothes off her back. Lynda shared in the Blount Sisters Ministry, preparing dessert for Code Blue of which she is known for Dirt Cake, Monkey Bread, and Rice Pudding. She was a Mary Kay Consultant. There was nothing that you would ask her to do that she wouldn't do.
Lynda supported her son Terrence when he went into business for himself with Primerica Financial Services. She was his first licensed agent and client. She encouraged Terrence to pursue entrepreneurship and "step out of the comfort zone." Lynda was passionate about helping people get licensed in the business and go to the next level. She and her son traveled together to different destinations they qualified for as a result of the business. Her favorite quotes were:
"Don't half-cheek it", "You can't get ahead laying in bed", "If you know and know that you know you know, then you know."
She transitioned this life at Inspira Hospital in Vineland, June 30, 2018, after a short period of illness. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving and devoted son Terrence J. Hickman. Six sisters: Claudia Blount-Turner; Terry Blount; Pamela Blount-Elliott (Howard); Alphefia Blount, all of Vineland; Valerie Lingo (Ulysses); Doreatha Gibbs; both of North Carolina. Three brothers: Timothy Blount, Sr. (Audrey) of Vineland; Raymond Lee Mann (Patricia) of Georgia; Willie Thomas Gibbs of New York; her sister-in-law Margaret Blount of Hammonton; her aunt Edith Selby of Port Norris and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a godson Jeremy Braxton, Stephanie (Terrence's girlfriend) and friends.
She was predeceased by her brother Charles T. Blount Jr.
